didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it it was amazing (my current rating)

Main Characters
Thomas: New Comer and Main Character of the book.
Alby: Leader of the group.
Newt: Second in command.
Chuck: Sweet. Friend to Thomas.
Minho: Leader of the runners.
Gally: Hates Thomas and most others.
Teresa: The only girl in the Glade.

This book has a definite strong Male lead. I do feel that toward the end Teresa kind of jumped in with Thomas as far as main characters goes. All through the book, the goal is the same, get out of the maze. Most have been trying for years to figure a way out but it isnt until Thomas comes into the picture that things start falling into place. I absolutely love how the author ended the book, ready and waiting for the next one. I rated this book the way I did because I literally could not put it down. From the beginning the author takes you straight into the maze, running over every aspect for clues to find a way out. This book is not necessarily fast paced but it is steady throughout and then picks up at the end. Trust me you will not want to put it down.

Main Characters

Thomas: Main Character of the book.
Newt: Second in command.
Minho: Leader of the runners.
Aris: Boy from group B.
Brenda: Friends with Jorge.
Jorge: Presented as Leader of the Cranks.
Sonya: Member of group B
Harriet: Member of group B
Teresa: The only girl in the Glade

Rat Man: Member of Wicked.
Rachel: Group B

In this book it is a competition between Thomas and Brenda for the lead. The one thing I really like about this book is that the author has a way of letting each character play a big part without taking away from Thomas or the story. From the moment they find their way out of the maze they are greeted by hell's heat. Trying to find their way out of the heat and to the safe haven. Lead through the scorch trials by Brenda and Jorge they are faced with many more obstacles that seem to form on each page. The author was able to keep that same pace in this book that he did, the five stars is very well deserved. I would consider this book a bit faster in pace but steady just the same. This author amazes me.

There was no definite lead in this book for characters. Although Thomas some what stole the spotlight, most of the characters played a really big role in the book. After leaving the Scorch trials they go through another set or trials, again trying to figure out Wicked and how to get out of this alive. In the end the most unlikely person is the one who helps them. Not telling :-)
I have such admiration for this author. He was able to keep the pace with each book. Not once did I get bored or have the want to put any of these books down. Five stars to all and I am really looking forward to The Kill Order.
